Floating Words consists of a small pool in which the viewer can play with letters and words. When the viewer speaks into the microphone, his or her voice is transformed into droplets that fall into the pool, where the letters drift in the water. Using a dipper, the viewer can scoop up the letters or stir them around. If an "a" is scooped up, it may turn into a picture of an ari (ant) in the dipper. The work is intended to be "edutainment" that creates an environment in which the viewer can have fun with letters and words in a relaxed mood.
